Utila Hyperbaric
Chamber
As Platinum Sponsors of the Utila Hyperbaric Chamber, we are able to offer extra learning opportunities for you while on Utila! Our PADI Divemaster and PADI Instructor course candidates are given a chance to experience a ‘dry dive’. This is a 45-minute dive to 60 feet that gives you a simulated experience of a hyperbaric treatment (although treatments can go up to nearly 6 hours).
The Utila Hyperbaric Chamber and Trauma Center is also a proud DAN Business member.
DISTINCTIVE FIELD NEUROLOGICAL EXAM SPECIALTY

As a PADI Divemaster or dive instructor, you are on the frontline when it comes to handling – or better – preventing serious dive injuries.

Because we’ve always felt there is a gap between Rescue diver training, basic CPR/First Aid and professional treatment our veteran Course Director Rick Reno wrote a PADI Distinctive Field Neurological Exam Specialty Diver course. The course is conducted at the Hyperbaric Chamber. It is designed to enable you to assess and continuously evaluate divers who you suspect may have decompression sickness.

The benefit of this course is that you will be able to provide medical personnel with very important information. By learning to identify the mental and physical state of a patient, we effectively shorten the time between the incident and the sometimes much-needed treatment.
The course takes half a day and is available at both the provider and instructor level.
